Sacrament of Confirmation Celebrated with Faith and Joy

The Sacrament of Confirmation was celebrated with great devotion and spiritual fervour at our church, marking a significant milestone in the faith journey of 102 students who received the sacrament. The celebration was a memorable occasion for the candidates, their parents, catechists, and the entire parish community.

The solemn Eucharistic celebration was presided over by Bishop Dr Peter Paul Saldanha, the main celebrant. He was joined by the concelebrants, Rev. Fr Andrew D’Souza, Rev. Fr Jesudas D’Costa, Rev. Fr Vijay Monteiro, Rev. Fr Kevin D’Souza, and Rev. Fr Francis D’Souza, along with Dn. Rajath Lobo and Br. Vijay. Their presence added to the spiritual significance of this grace-filled occasion.

In his message, Bishop Dr Peter Paul Saldanha emphasised the importance of the Sacrament of Confirmation in strengthening the faith of young Christians. Through this sacrament, the candidates are strengthened by the gifts of the Holy Spirit and called to become courageous witnesses of Christ in their daily lives. He encouraged the students to remain rooted in prayer, grow in their relationship with Jesus, and live out the values of love, unity, service, and compassion.

The 102 candidates received the Sacrament of Confirmation with reverence and enthusiasm, taking an important step forward in their Christian journey. The celebration highlighted the vital role of the Holy Spirit in guiding them to make responsible choices, deepen their faith, and actively participate in the life and mission of the Church.

The occasion was made meaningful through the dedicated efforts of the parish priests, catechists, parents, and all those who contributed to the spiritual preparation of the candidates. Their guidance and support helped the students prepare themselves to receive this sacred sacrament.

The celebration concluded with hearts filled with gratitude to God for the abundant blessings bestowed upon the candidates and the parish community. May the Holy Spirit continue to guide the newly confirmed students, strengthen them in faith, and inspire them to become joyful witnesses of Christ wherever they go.

May the gifts of the Holy Spirit enlighten their minds, strengthen their hearts, and lead them along the path of holiness throughout their lives.
