Inauguration of Catechetical Year 2026-2027 at St. Joseph Church, Bajpe

On Sunday, June 7, 2026, the parish community of St. Joseph Church, Bajpe, gathered joyfully at 9:15 AM for the Holy Eucharist to mark the inauguration of the Catechetical Year 2026–2027.

Recalling the words of Jesus, “Let the little children come to me; do not hinder them, for the Kingdom of Heaven belongs to such as these,” the celebration reflected the spirit of the Year of Children initiative of the Mangalore Diocese. Guided by the inspiring motto, “Our Children are the fruits of God’s Kingdom,” the ceremony highlighted the importance of nurturing children in faith and Christian values.

Rev. Fr. Andrew D’Souza, Parish Priest, delivered a meaningful homily centered on the feast of Corpus Christi. Reflecting on the Eucharistic presence and sacrificial love of Christ, he beautifully connected its significance with the mission of catechetical formation, encouraging parents, teachers, and the parish community to nurture children in faith and guide them towards spiritual growth.

During the Eucharistic celebration, the catechism teachers for the academic year 2026–2027 were officially appointed, reaffirming their dedication and commitment to the faith formation of children. The children actively and prayerfully led the Eucharistic liturgy, filling the church with devotion, joy, and enthusiasm.

The active participation of the parishioners made the inauguration a grace-filled and memorable occasion, strengthening the spirit of unity and shared responsibility in the mission of catechesis.
