Celebrating Love and Commitment: “Parzal” – Stree Sanghatan hosts Married Couples’ Day

The “Parzal” – Stree Sanghatan Bajpe, organized a joyous celebration of Married Couples’ Day on May 31 at St. Joseph’s Church Hall, Bajpe, bringing together over 145 couples to celebrate the beauty and commitment of marriage.

The program began with a prayer song led by two couples, followed by a welcome by Treasurer Mrs. Gracy Sequeira. Secretary Sandhya Rebello briefly highlighted Parzal’s service to the community.

The event was graced by Rev. Fr. Andrew D’Souza, Parish Priest, along with Rev. Fr. Jesudas D’Costa, Parochial Parish Priest & Spiritual Director – St John Paul II Shrine; Rev. Fr. Vijay Monteiro, Assistant Parish Priest; Rev. Fr. Clement Cutinha; Mrs. Gretta Pinto, President – DCCW; Mrs. Violet Pereira, Secretary – DCCW; Mr. Cyril Lewis, Vice President – PPC, Mrs. Juliet Moras, Secretary – PPC, Mrs. Gladis Dsouza, Secretary – Parish Commission for Women, Mrs. Cletta D’Cunha, President – Parzal and Mrs. Sandhya Rebello, Secretary – Parzal.

In his address, Fr. Jesudas D’Costa congratulated the couples and emphasized the lifelong commitment of marriage, beautifully expressing its depth through a song. Mrs. Cletta D’Cunha encouraged couples to nurture understanding, communication, and appreciation in their daily lives. Mrs. Gretta Pinto highlighted marriage as a sacred bond rooted in trust, forgiveness, and faith, while reminding that a successful marriage grows through mutual support. Fr. Andrew D’Souza stressed the importance of spending time together, praying as a family, and resolving misunderstandings with love and patience.

On this momentous occasion, Rev. Fr. Andrew D’Souza was felicitated by the “Parzal” Stree Sanghatan in celebration of his Ruby Jubilee of priestly service.

A special highlight was the sharing of life experiences by two couples celebrating over 6 decades of married life, inspiring all present. Cultural programs added joy and fellowship to the occasion.

The event was compered by the couple – Mr. & Mrs. David and Sheila Dsouza. Joint Secretary Diana Rego proposed the vote of thanks.

The celebration concluded on a heartwarming note, reminding all present that while no marriage is perfect, a successful one is built through love, patience, shared faith, and the willingness to grow together—making every journey of togetherness truly meaningful.
