Building Vibrant Parish Communities Through Leadership Formation: Training Program held at Bajpe

A training program for the members of the Parish Council, Finance Council, and various Pastoral Commissions was successfully conducted for the parishes of Bajpe, Permude, and Pezar. The session was organized with the objective of strengthening parish leadership, enhancing collaboration, and equipping council and commission members to effectively carry out their responsibilities in the mission of the Church.

The resource person for the programme was Rev. Fr Naveen Pinto, Judicial Vicar and Coordinator of Pastoral Commissions, Diocese of Mangalore. Drawing from his rich pastoral and administrative experience, Fr. Naveen guided the participants on the roles, responsibilities, and functioning of Parish Councils, Finance Councils, and various pastoral commissions in accordance with the vision and guidelines of the Diocese.

During the session, Fr. Naveen emphasized the importance of servant leadership, transparency in administration, accountability in financial matters, and active participation of the laity in the life and mission of the Church. He encouraged the members to work together in unity, fostering a spirit of communion, collaboration, and co-responsibility within their respective parishes.

The training also provided practical insights into effective parish planning, decision-making processes, financial stewardship, and the implementation of pastoral initiatives. Interactive discussions and question-and-answer sessions enabled participants to clarify their doubts and gain a deeper understanding of their ministry and service.

Members from the three parishes actively participated in the programme and appreciated the valuable guidance offered by Fr. Naveen Pinto. The gathering concluded with a renewed commitment among the participants to serve their parish communities with dedication, faith, and enthusiasm. The programme proved to be a fruitful opportunity for formation and empowerment, helping parish leaders strengthen their commitment to building vibrant and mission-oriented parish communities.
