Resurrection Joy Echoes Through Bajpe Church Grounds at Solemn Easter Vigil

The Easter Vigil also called Paschal celebration began at 7pm in church grounds with blessing of the fire and the procession with the lighted Paschal Candle through the darkened church, to the Holy Altar. Following this, Rev Fr Anil Roshan Lobo chanted the Exsultet, proclaiming the Resurrection of Christ, celebrating the triumph of light over darkness, and setting the tone for the rest of the Vigil.

The Festal Eucharistic Celebration was led by the Parish Priest, Rev Dr Ronald Cutinha along with Rev Fr Vivian Nishanth Rodrigues, Assistant parish priest and Rev Fr Anil Roshan Lobo, Chaplain, St John Paul II Shrine.

The liturgy of the Word comprised of three readings from the Old Testament. After which “Gloria” was sung accompanied by the ringing of church bells marking the end of the Lenten silence and the beginning of Easter joy.  This was followed by two readings from the New Testament.

Water was blessed followed by the renewal of baptismal vows and the holy water was sprinkled upon the parishioners.

Easter joy echoed through the church grounds, magnified by the church choir’s melodious and heartfelt singing.

Rev Dr Ronald Cutinha acknowledged the contributions of the PPC members, sponsors and conveyed Easter wishes to all the parishioners. “Konkani Circus” book written by Roshu Bajpe – Mr Roshan Sequeira of Nityadhar ward was also released on this joyous occasion.
