On the occasion of the Nativity Feast, ICYM Bajpe Unit took a noble initiative to distribute vegetables and other essential items to the needy families within the parish. The event took place on September 7 at 3:00 PM on the church premises.
The event was graced by dignitaries including ICYM Bajpe Unit Director Rev. Fr. Andrew D’souza , Assistant Director Rev. Fr. Jesudas D’costa, President Ms. Reenal Rodrigues, and Secretary Ms. Ashel Rosario. Along with them, several ICYM members and parish youth were actively involved in the initiative.
The event began with a prayer, with Rev. Fr. Jesudas D’costa invoked God’s blessings upon the gathering. Ms. Reenal Rodrigues then warmly welcomed everyone. In his address, Rev. Fr. Andrew D’souza commended the youth for their commendable efforts in organizing and executing such a meaningful act of service.
Ms. Ashel Rosario delivered the vote of thanks, expressing gratitude to the donors whose generosity made the event a success. The collection included vegetables, cereals, rice, and other essential items contributed by generous parishioners. These items were given to 26 families in need. The parish youth, working together with ICYM, made this initiative successful and showed great support.
Following the distribution, the youth gathered to decorate the Grotto of Mother Mary in honor of the Nativity Feast. The grotto was beautifully adorned with flowers, generously donated by Mr. Ivan Misquith. The vibrant flowers enhanced the Grotto’s sacred ambience, adding a sense of serenity and reverence to the church grounds.
The event showed the parish’s generosity and service, with the youth taking the lead in acts of kindness.
