ICYM Bajpe Unit organized the Interward Men’s Cricket and Women’s Leg Cricket Tournament on Sunday, 18 January 2026, at the St. Joseph’s High School Grounds, Bajpe.
The Parish Priest, Rev. Fr. Andrew Douza; Parish Pastoral Council Vice-President Mr. William Cyril Lewis; Parish Pastoral Secretary Ms. Juliet Moras; Parish Pastoral 21 Commission Coordinator Mr. Stany Rodrigues; ICYM Bajpe Unit Animator Ms. Frenita Tauro; ICYM President Ms. Reenal Rodrigues; Secretary Ms. Ashel Rosario; and Sports Secretary Mr. Rohan Pinto were present on the dais.
The inaugural ceremony commenced with a prayer song to invoke God’s blessings on the event. ICYM Bajpe Unit President Ms. Reenal Rodrigues welcomed the guests and the gathering. Rev. Fr. Andrew Douza addressed the gathering and officially inaugurated the tournament. The vote of thanks was delivered by ICYM Bajpe Unit Sports Secretary Mr. Rohan Pinto.
A total of 12 wards participated in the Men’s Cricket Tournament, while 10 wards took part in the Women’s Leg Cricket Tournament. Parishioners participated with great enthusiasm and displayed remarkable sportsmanship.
The valedictory programme began at 4:30 PM in the presence of the main sponsors, referees, and other dignitaries. The results were announced by Mr. Ruben D’Souza.

• Best Batsman: Javin Xavier Rodrigues
• Man of the Series / Player of the Tournament: Faustin Savio Saldanha

The event concluded successfully with active participation from parishioners of all ages, making it a memorable and energetic celebration of sportsmanship and unity.
