In a heartfelt tribute to the senior members of the parish, the Catholic Sabha Mangalore Pradesh® Bajpe Unit celebrated World Elders Day on July 27, 2025. The event was thoughtfully curated to recognize the wisdom, faith, and lifelong contributions of elders aged 70 and above, drawing a gathering of over 240 participants.
The day commenced with sacramental confessions at 10:15 AM, followed by a solemn Eucharistic celebration at 11:00 AM. The Holy Mass, offered for the intentions of the elderly, provided a moment of spiritual enrichment and reflection, setting a reverent tone for the day.
A congratulatory program was held at the Main Church Hall, where dignitaries from the parish and Catholic Sabha leadership graced the occasion. The dais featured:

In his presidential address, Rev. Fr. Andrew Dsouza emphasized the importance of prioritizing health and well-being in one’s later years, encouraging elders to embrace aging with grace and positivity. Mr. Santosh Dsouza extended warm congratulations to all attendees, acknowledging their enduring role in shaping the parish community.
As a gesture of appreciation, commemorative mementos were presented to the elders. Mr. Stany Dsouza formally welcomed the gathering, while Mrs. Pauline Dsouza delivered the vote of thanks. The program was seamlessly anchored by Ms. Janice Dsouza.
The event concluded with a sumptuous lunch, shared in fellowship and joy. The celebration not only honored the legacy of the elderly but also reinforced the values of gratitude, community, and intergenerational respect that lie at the heart of parish life.
